EXPUNGEMENT
The process of having your criminal record cleansed is called expungement it is a civil proceeding which takes place in the Circuit Court. An expungement is available to those who have been accused of crimes but not found guilty. Once the process is completed by the Circuit Court the charge is removed from the criminal record of the accused, thus making it unavailable to potential employers, police, or others who have a right to review your criminal record. Also any databases containing this information are required to remove this information.
